The Best 28 Inch Cree LED Light Bars

Northpole Light 28 inch has an average rating of 4.7 out of 5 based on 17 user reviews.

Cree LED light bars are designed for DC systems and vehicle installation so you have a bright light source wherever you go. A 28″ light bar is a good size to start with, as it will fit most vehicles and still provide plenty of illumination for your needs. Here are five that you should consider.

1. Northpole Light

Northpole Light 28 inch

Northpole’s 28″ LED provides up to 7,920 lumens of intensity at 180 watts through an array of 3-watt CREE bulbs. Bright white light from the Spot-Flood combo cover up to a 60-degree angle so you can see what’s ahead. The design includes a black aluminum housing with shatterproof lens, stainless steel adjustable mounting brackets with screws. It’s also dust-proof, shock-proof, and water-proof. This light bar runs of 10V-30V direct current, but low power consumption for up to a 30,000 hour lifespan. It also comes with a 12-month warranty.

The brackets slide in a track along the bottom and can be positioned and locked anywhere along the light bar to suit your vehicle. For the most part installation is quite easy, depending on where you want it placed. It does not come with a wiring harness, which would give more installation options, but that can be bought separately. This is the most affordable on the list, and the light diffusion isn’t as good as some other models, but it’s simple to install, bright, and very durable.

2. Willpower

Willpower 28 inch

This is quite similar in specifications to the Northpole light bar, but provides greater power at up to 18,000 lumens, pretty impressive for a 28″ light bar- and for only a slight price hike. It also comes with a longer 2-year warranty. It doesn’t include a wiring harness either, but you can likely buy a 12-foot harness for under $20 for wiring in switches or relays.

It seems very well made despite being surprisingly lightweight. With the hardware included, the adjustable brackets are easy to install across a range of off-road or working vehicles, from forklifts to tractors. The intense, pure white light is very useful for showing more details in your surroundings. If that’s what you need to feel safe or get work done, the Willpower is a good option.

SLDX 28 inch

The SLDX is even lighter and less expensive than the Willpower, but with less intensity at 12,000 lumens. It comes with a 1-year warranty, sliding adjustable brackets, and Spot-Flood lighting. It gives a comparable 30,000 hour lifespan, but with SLDX advantages like electrical leak prevention, epoxy-encapsulated electronics, and reverse polarity protection. It’s also both water-proof and flame-resistant. These bright LED lights do run hot.

If there’s one recurring complaint it’s that the brackets are somewhat flimsy. This shouldn’t be a problem under ordinary wear and tear even on rough trails, but if for some reason you were to bang the light bar against a branch, or put your weight on it, the brackets might bend. Adding a bit of reinforcing steel to each one should fix that, and you’ve got a great LED light bar for the price.

4. Eyourlife

Eyourlife 28 inch

At 144 watts of output it isn’t as power-hungry as the other LED light bars here, but still puts out a respectable 10,080 lumens. The Spot/Flood beam puts out the 6000K daylight-comparable light with excellent diffusion and focus that’s easy on the eyes. It’s a step up in price from the first three models, but has the higher IP 68 water-proof rating. Otherwise, the standard black aluminum housing, 10V-30V operational range, and 30,000 hour lifespan.

The curvature is less pronounced than you might expect, but still gives a good range of bright light up to 100 feet ahead. The only drawback is an occasional report of an improperly sealed lens which admits moisture and makes a whistling noise at highway speeds. However, you can get a replacement or fix it yourself more quickly with a little waterproof epoxy.

5. KanSmart

Kansmart 28 inch

This is easily the most expensive of the five listed, but does come with a wiring harness. It also delivers a bit more with the high-watt output, IP 68 moisture rating, 50,000 hour lifespan, 2-year warranty, and 5D reflector lens that creates a more focused light diffusion. The curved design helps to follow the curvature of the windshield or other vehicle contours. It operates off 9-36 V DC power sources to work with larger trucks and boats.

It’s sturdily constructed, and very easy to install with three adjustable brackets that screw into nuts secured in the aluminum housing. Actual peak wattage may be closer to 330W and 30,000 lumens, making for an extremely bright product at this size. If you’ve got a little extra to spend, you’ll be thrilled with the KanSmart LED light bar.
